History
Settlers in the late 1800s encountered the Flambeau Indians, living near what is known today as Sugar Camp lake and Indian Lake, amongst the maple groves. In time the settlers came to purchase sugar and maple syrup from the Indian camp, which was referred to as "the Sugar Camp". Later the town of Robbins was changed to that name. The community of Robbins was named after Frank Robbins, the owner of the Robbins railroad which was built for the booming logging industry.
