The substance of dreams are found here in the Lake Superior Northwoods Region within the Sugar Camp Chain of Lakes.
The American Legion State Forest encompasses the chain and there is minimal shoreline development. The entire chain is known for its bounty of walleye, and bass as well as other delightful treats.
Sugar Camp offers a wide variety of sporting activities such as slow pitch softball, ice golfing, MX-racing and has over 75 miles of snowmobile trails, to ensure fun year round.

The land area of Sugar Camp is 88.9 square miles located in Oneida County. Latitude: 45.49 N, Longitude: 89.20 W. It is 149.5 miles S.E. of Duluth MN and 284.4 miles N.W. of Chicago, IL. The nearest city to Sugar Camp with a population of 200,000+ is St. Paul, MN which is 192.5 miles S.W.
History
Settlers in the late 1800s encountered the Flambeau Indians, living near what is known today as Sugar Camp lake and Indian Lake, amongst the maple groves. In time the settlers came to purchase sugar and maple syrup from the Indian camp, which was referred to as "the Sugar Camp". Later the town of Robbins was changed to that name. The community of Robbins was named after Frank Robbins, the owner of the Robbins railroad which was built for the booming logging industry.
